New Range of RoHS Compliant Circular Connectors for Industrial and Commercial Applications

A new range of high reliability, rugged, RoHS-compliant Circular Connectors released by Harwin meets the high standards of MIL-DTL-5015 (MIL-C-5015) yet is priced to be cost-effective for commercial and industrial applications.

For use in harsh and demanding environments the rugged high specification, cadmium-free range also features free plug, panel mount and cable connector orientations in a number of popular shell and layout options. These cost-effective solutions will offer benefits in power generators, fixed and portable industrial equipment, control cables, machine tools and robotics to name a few market areas.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
