3 - Axis Magnetic Sensor Hybrid HMC2003 Acquires Traceability Status

ETLG Inertial Aerosystems announce that the 3 - Axis magnetic sensor hybrid HMC2003 has acquired traceability status. Each sensor is serialised and batch traceable and ETL’s ISO 9001:2008 quality management system records and tracks the data .

Manufactured by Minneapolis based Honeywell Aerospace, this high performance, full 3-axis, surface mounted magnetic sensor is designed to measure low magnetic field strengths. Incorporated are three of the highest grade magneto resistive sensors with instrumentation grade electronics to measure the strength and direction of an incident magnetic field. The high bandwidth of this hybrid allows for anomaly detection of vehicles, planes and other ferrous objects at high speeds.

The HMC2003 feature a 20-pin wide DIP footprint (25.4 x 19.05mm ), onboard 2.5 Volt reference, 6/15 Volts DC single supply operation, 40 micro-gauss to +/-2 gauss dynamic range and -40/85 degrees C operating range. A temperature compensation circuit maintains bridge sensitivity.

A RS - 232 development kit is available that includes a windows compatible demo program, interface cable, AC adapter, and carrying case.

Applications include Precision Compassing, Navigation Systems, Attitude Reference, flight control, Traffic Detection, Proximity Detection and Medical Devices.
