On-premise, hosted and hybrid Engineering Solutions on SharePoint

Cadac Organice BV, Microsoft Gold ISV Partner and developer of the Cadac Organice Product Suite, introduces a unique hybrid concept of on-premise and hosted Engineering Document Management and Control based on Microsoft SharePoint. It offers project-driven engineering industries the flexibility to implement the solution they need for document control and project collaboration.

The Cadac Organice Product Suite is a solution for Engineering Document Management and Control based on Microsoft SharePoint. Since the introduction in 2004, companies worldwide in the AEC, Process Industry, Manufacturing and Utilities are successfully using the solution on-premise. But for various reasons, companies are not always able to setup and maintain an on-premise SharePoint infrastructure. Further, project-driven engineering industries are often in need for a project environment on short notice. For these reasons, Cadac Organice has introduced the Cloud Solution. The Cloud Solution offers Engineering Document Management and Control in a hosted SharePoint environment based on the Cadac Organice Product Suite. The environment can be used instantly, without the need to invest in an on-premise SharePoint infrastructure.

The on-premise and hosted solution are both based on Microsoft SharePoint, a standard and open platform, which creates a unique concept for a hybrid solution. This hybrid concept allows companies to manage part of their documentation and information on-premise and another part in the cloud, while users can work seamlessly and transparently in both environments. As an example of a possible scenario, companies are able to manage as-built information of buildings, plants and installations on-premise and temporarily upload project and maintenance information to a hosted environment to collaborate on these documents with external partners. After project close, these documents can be moved to on-premise to update the as-built documentation.
