MECO HB Seals - Standard Screw Conveyor Seals

MECO shaft seals is pleased to announce the newest member of our family: the HB Seal for screw conveyors.

The HB seal replaces standard wastepack housings. It comes in five, C.E.M.A.-standard sizes for US inch screws, and in eleven standard metric sizes. All are built using one of a series of five housings, designed to fit standard, 4-bolt flange bearings. Additional size shafts, up to 4.07" (103mm) can also be accommodated.

HB seal housings are available in hardcoat-anodized aluminum, type 316L stainless steel, or FDA Nylon.

The MECO HB seal model is the best choice for sealing screw conveyors. The HB model uses full-contact, soft-faced mechanical shaft sealing technology, sized for C.E.M.A. and metric standards. The HB seal model provides the superior performance, durability and quality of workmanship that are hallmarks of MECO's many

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
