Haydon Kerk Motion Solutions Releases a 36mm Linear Actuator Configuration to Replace Existing Size 14 Hybrids

Haydon Kerk Motion Solutions, a premier manufacturer of linear motion products, has released a new version of the popular 36mm G4 linear actuator. This configuration includes a special adapter plate that allows the smaller 36mm OD unit to replace existing size 14 hybrid stepper motor linear actuators.

Performance of the 36mm G4 linear actuator not only exceeds the performance of comparable size can stack actuators in the marketplace today, but also meets the performance of the larger hybrid size 14 frame size actuators.

The 36mm unit with the integrated size 14 adapter plate allows the user to replace existing hybrid units easily by using the same bolt pattern and pilot surface. Assuming the high resolution of the hybrid style actuators isn’t required; the 36mm can-stack with a size 14 adapter plate provides the performance and life of the more expensive size 14 units. Force output range of the G4 36mm can stack is from 70N to 260N (16lb to 58lb).

The G4 linear actuator architecture employs the latest technologies to extend reliability and meet high-performance requirements. The design utilizes optimized teeth geometry along with high energy neodymium magnets, resulting in a higher continuous force output in a small package. With 20% higher output force across the entire speed range compared with other designs of similar size, the G4 also contains the latest custom-engineered plastics and larger bearings for greater rotor support and higher axial load capability.

The 36mm linear actuator is ideal for applications, including medical equipment, bar code scanning devices, printing equipment, laboratory instrumentation and other mechanisms requiring high force in a small package. There are 3 configurations available, as with other Haydon stepper motor linear actuators: Captive, Non-Captive, and External Linear.
