New Micro Endoscopes in Titanium Construction for Tough Industrial Use

Ultrafine Technology is famous for its tiny endoscopes which deliver stunning quality images from probes small enough to pass through the eye of a needle. One of Ultrafine's most successful products in recent times has been its range of Pencil Probes - tiny endoscopes, flexible in their main part and terminating with a pencil grip handle and semi-rigid insertion probe.

A typical insertion probe is 1mm in diameter, stainless steel, and available in a range of lengths with forward and side viewing options. It's understandable that despite Ultrafine's superb build quality, these endoscopes get damaged from time to time under intensive repetitive use. We are delighted to report the successful completion of trials using titanium for the insertion probe, which show this material will last three or four times longer than stainless steel in tough inspection applications.

Although there is a small price supplement for titanium construction, the implication for customers using these probes for regular high volume inspections is that they can achieve substantial annual savings in repair costs.
