Multi-Contact USA celebrated new home in Windsor, California with official ribbon-cutting ceremony and a public open house event.

In February 2011, Multi-Contact USA moved in to its new greater quarters in the Town of Windsor. Due to its rapidly expanding manufacturing capabilities in North America and the significant increase in their workforce over the years, the move to this 42,000-square foot facility was the right choice. To celebrate this milestone, MC-USA hosted a private opening ceremony in April that included Multi-Contact’s senior management, as well as members from the Stäubli Group management and board.

The Town of Windsor Community, friends, and family were also involved in Multi-Contact USA’s inauguration of their new building with an official ribbon-cutting event and open house on July 20th.

Over 120 guests meandered through the building by participating in informative building tours that showcased MC-USA’s processes and products. A special highlight of the tour involved a visit to the second floor of the building allowing the public to see first-hand the solar roof installation and learn more about solar! To make things more interesting, live demos of MC’s products from all product lines were shown. MC-USA’s 860 panels are using over 2,000 of MC4 connectors and are producing up to 209 kilowatts of energy during peak times.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
