Cube20 - New Module, More Flexibility

Murrelektronik is please to announce an expansion of our Cube20 family with the addition of the new Cube20 DI32 NPN module (Art. Number: 56121), a UL approved input module with 32 digital inputs for universal applications.

The module can be universally used for NPN or PNP switching sensors. Thanks to a simple jumper on the connection terminals, the module can be switched between NPN or PNP mode:

If the "MOD" terminal is connected to the "US" terminal, the module functions in the NPN mode.

If the "MOD" terminal is connected to the "0V" terminal, the module functions in the PNP mode.

Murrelektronik's Cube20 is a fieldbus I/O station with modular expandability, which can be integrated along with the Cube67 I/O system. Cube20 is designed for the requirements of modern wiring in control cabinets. High costs from dealing with many individual components are reduced when you use Cube20 thanks to the compact design and a high channel density of 32 channels per I/O module. With 488 channels on 90 cm Cube20 you can easily save space and get more flexibility. Cube20 features maintenance-free plug terminals for single-wire connectivity that is standard in control cabinets.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
