Aaxeon Releases New 10/100TX to 100FX Fiber Media Converters

Aaxeon Technologies is proud to announce the release of our new FCU-1802 Series of 10//100BaseTX to 100BaseFX Fiber Media Converters.  The new FCU-1802 is a Fast Ethernet Bridge 100Base-FX fiber to 10/100Base-TX shielded twisted pair (STP) converter.  It features a DIP Switch that allows you to select between half-duplex and full-duplex operations.  The unit auto-adapts to the highest level of performance supported by the device connected to the STP port.

When the device is a switch or a workstation that supports full duplex, the FCU-1802 adapts to the full-duplex mode and provides an effective 200Mbps bandwidth.  When the connected device is a hub or a workstation that supports only half duplex, the converter adapts to the half-duplex mode and provides the nominal 100Mbps bandwidth.  An override switch provides total manual control over the half/full-duplex operation, in a fiber-optic interface. The fiber port of the FCU-1802 operates at 1310 nm and uses ST, SC, or WDM connectors. Multi-mode models that support distances up to 2 km and single-mode models that support distances up to 30 km are available.

The FCU-1802 series includes a LFP (Link Fault Pass Through function) (LLCF/LLR) and DIP Switch design.  LLCF/LLR can immediately warn administrators of problems with link media and provide efficient solutions to monitor the net. The DIP Switch provides a disable or enable LFP function.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays.
