New Lighted Alarm Pairs Bright Light with Ultra Loud Sound

Floyd Bell’s patented new Twin Turbo™ Lighted Alarm is a small (approx. 1”x1”) panel-mount piezoelectric audio alert that emits a daylight-viewable bright light when activated, effectively combining Floyd Bell’s popular Turbo™ series Alarms with their Turbo Light™ Series Panel Indicators into one convenient multi-sensory alarm device.  Available in 5 colors and 7 different tone types, the sound output measures up to an impressive 103dB at 2’! The energy efficient, two-terminal lighted alarm operates at various voltages in the 9-30 VDC range while drawing only 50-110mA.

A special illuminated enclosure creates a “halo” design on the Twin Turbo™ that distributes the light and allows it to be seen from the side, offering an impressive 180º dispersion.  In a durable polycarbonate plastic casing, the front-mount panel indicator is tamper-proof, IP68 and creates a NEMA 4X seal when installed.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
