Hazardous Location Disconnects and Mechanical Interlocks

Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems is pleased to announce the introduction of a new line of hazardous location disconnects and mechanical interlocks.  The new offering will enhance Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems broad solution set of non-fused motor switches and interlocks.  Both lines are suitable for Class I, II and III applications as well as NEMA 4X environments.  The disconnect switches are available in 30, 60 and 100A and the mechanical interlocks are available in 30A and 60A.

The enclosures are compact in size and can easily be mounted on a wall or to equipment. The units have a small number of assembly bolts and the ductile mounting lugs make that enhance installation.  The enclosures are made of copper-free aluminum and have a polyester/epoxy finish to prevent corrosion.   The high visibility handles can be locked out to comply with OSHA lock out/tag out regulations.   The switched receptacles are mechanically interlocked to prevent connections from being mated or broken under load which is critical in making safe electrical connections.

Hazardous Location devices are ideally suited to areas where combustible dust and fumes may collect such as grain storage facilities, waste water treatment plants, paint shops, vehicle maintenance areas, fertilizer plants, coal mining, particular types of food processing, refineries and petro-chemical plants.
