Danaher Specialty Products Supports Pinwheels for Prevention

Danaher Specialty Products (DSP) employees have shown a strong desire to help their communities, and DSP supports their efforts in a variety of ways. In 2012 DSP launched its Employee Volunteer Program (EVP), and the first event is a smashing success! Together, the EVP has donated over 50 hours, $416.50 to Bladen County’s Child Abuse Awareness Day on April 21, 2012, and planted 224 pinwheels in our garden.

In recognition of April being Child Abuse Prevention Month, DSP employees rallied behind Pinwheels for Prevention as they planted a Pinwheel Garden on the front lawn on April 10, 2012. During this month, especially, communities nationwide recognize that we all play a role in healthy child development and the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Pinwheels, the centerpiece of the Pinwheels for Prevention Campaign, are again popping up in front yards, at community events and in front of City Halls as the country takes a moment during April to recognize Child Abuse Prevention Month (CAP).

The pinwheel represents Prevent Child Abuse America’s efforts to change the way our nation thinks about abuse prevention, as well as focusing on community activities and public policies that prioritize prevention right from the start to make sure child abuse and neglect never occur.

Nearly 900,000 pinwheels have been displayed since April 2008. Join DSP by bringing Pinwheels for Prevention to your organization and community!
