Employees Cycle 2,025 Miles In Europe “Ride For Relief”

Inspired by the 2012 London Olympic Games, Honeywell Aerospace employees in Europe participated in the Ride for Relief event - a bicycle tour of 2,025 miles (3,260 km) that traversed five countries to raise money for the Honeywell Humanitarian Relief Fund (HHRF).  The course passed through 11 Honeywell sites including: Olomouc, Brno and Prague, Czech Republic; Maintal and Raunheim, Germany; Rolle, Switzerland; Toulouse and Gennevilliers, France; and Yeovil, Bournemouth and Basingstoke, United Kingdom.

Riders and volunteers collected more than $25,000 (€20,600) for the HHRF. Honeywell will match employee contributions as part of the current Colorado wildfire relief efforts, bringing the total to more than $40,000 (€32,650). The Ride for Relief began on May 5 and ended July 8 with six riders crossing the finish line in London’s Green Park.

The HHRF is part of Honeywell Hometown Solutions, the company’s corporate citizenship initiative, which focuses on five issues of vital importance: Family Safety & Security; Housing & Shelter; Science & Math Education; Habitat & Conservation; and Humanitarian Relief.
