Smarty is the latest DC:DC Converter for Solar Smart Sub-Combiners

Tamura Corp's new "Parasitic" DC supply feeds off Photovoltaic system DC voltage up to 1000VDC and safely, securely, supplies isolated 24VDC at 1 Amp, to power Smart Sub-Combiner Data collection and transmission devices.

Available in Q3 2012, in North America. Product tested to UL1741for Photovoltaic system applications.

    200VDC to 600VDC UL rated (Maximum 1000 Volt DC operation)

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved. However, if sizing at this level prevents the motor from starting, it may then be necessary to increase the fuse ampere rating and it then becomes important to know the NEC sizing limitations. Model QLS Quad Loop Splitter Splits One 4-20 mA Current Loop into 4 Independent Loops

Model QLS Quad Output Loop Splitter / Retransmittersources up to four (4) independently adjustable 4-20 mA outputs from a single input, which can be 4-20 mA, 1-5V, 0-5V or 0-10V, as selected by jumpers. The outputs can share a common ground. The input and outputs are mutually isolated to ±10V by means of active circuitry to accommodate differences in local grounds with normal industrial grounding practices. If any device in an output loop is removed from a loop or fails, or if a wiring fault occurs, the other loops continue to operate properly. Each loop only drives a single load, avoiding compliance problems. Model QLS overcomes problems associated with the common industrial wiring practice where the same 4-20 mA signal from a transmitter is sent to multiple devices in series.
