High Precision smd TCXO

Targetted at applications such as femtocell and macrocell base stations, TFC are now able to offer TCXOs with stabilities as low as +/-0.1ppm. Historically this level of accuracy could only be acheived by OCXO's which could cost over £100ea. Now as TCXO technology advances, high precision TCXOs can be used to decrease the cost, yet acheive a similar performance.

The TW series, which measures only 5x3.2mm smd, fits in to TFC's range of standard TCXOs which have packages from 2.0 x 2.5mm and stratum 3 designs. They provide cost-effective solutions for system clocks as well, as flexibility in hardware design in femtocell devices.

TFC marketing manager, Craig Wells said "We are constantly improving our oscillator products in terms of size and accuracy, and this is another release in terms of product realisation. Our R&D department are able to work on custom design requests and we aim to continue widen our range."

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
