The New Amprobe ACDC-100 Digital Clamp-Ons Deliver Accuracy, Quality and Enhanced Ergonomics

Amprobe Test Tools introduces the ACDC-100 and ACDC-100 TRMS Digital Clamp-ons, fully functional clamp meters with simplified interfaces and easy-to-read, oversized display screens to help technicians get their work done quickly and easily.

Both models feature auto and manual ranging, relative zero mode, MAX capture for in-rush current measurements (30 mS response), auto power off, data hold, diode test, audible continuity and "third hand" test probe holder. The ACDC-100 TRMS features true rms measurements and a backlit display. The clamp-ons are safety rated CAT III 600 V.

The ergonomics of the ACDC100 are enhanced by Amprobe's Red, Rubber, Ribs design, making it easy to handle. The rubber over-molded case includes built-in probe storage.

The ACDC-100 and ACDC-100 TRMS come with a carrying case, test leads, two AAA batteries and user manual. A wide variety of optional accessories are also available.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
