Uniform Line Generators are Now Available from Diode Laser Concepts, Inc.

DLC now offers non-Gaussian (uniform) intensity line generators. These diode laser modules are the smallest available uniform line generators on the market and feature integrated electronics in a fully sealed anodized aluminum housing. They are available in a wide range of fan angles, wavelengths and output powers. DLC’s superior module design is incorporated into each uniform line generator giving customers the most compact, reliable, and cost effective module on the market. They also come with a standard 2 year warranty.

Diode Laser Concepts, Inc.'s uniform line generators are designed for the OEM customer looking for high performance at a competitive price. Typical laser lines are Gaussian in their intensity profile; they have a higher output power in the center of the line with the power decreasing and fading towards the end of the line. Although this is acceptable for many applications, some such as Machine Vision require an equal distribution of output power across the entire line. DLC's uniform line generators offer this equal power distribution with industry leading product reliability and affordability.

Our uniform line generators feature integrated electronics with reverse polarity, over voltage and surge protection. These compact diode laser modules are the smallest uniform line generators available with a diameter of 9.5mm (0.375") and a length of 40mm (1.57"). They are also available in DLC's 12.7mm (0.500") x 40mm (1.57"), Industrial, NEMA4X or custom housing.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
