Phihong's New Stonehenge Series LED Drivers with 100,000 Hour Measured Lifespans

Phihong USA, a leading global supplier of energy efficient and highly reliable power solutions for OEM lighting technology, has developed a new series of external AC/DC LED drivers that boast extended lifespans of up to 100,000 hours. The new Stonehenge series LED drivers are designed without E-caps, which dry out over time and shortenthe operating life of power supplies. A subset of the broader PDA012X Series, the Stonehenge Series consists of two drivers: the PDA012A-350C-H-R, which is designed for AC inputs of 220-277VAC, and the PDA012B-350C-H-R, which is designed for AC inputs of 100-120VAC. Both 350mA constant-current drivers operate at an output voltage range of 10-43VDC, and are ideal for applications including display lighting and small strings of high-intensity bulbs.

“Solid-state lighting provides greater energy savings and longer operating lifespans than incandescent or fluorescent lighting; however, most manufacturers cannot provide OEMs with power supplies that can match LEDs’ longevity,” said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong USA. “The new Stonehenge series, which boasts measured life spans of 100,000 hours, resolves this issue by meeting LED operation benchmarks, cutting energy costs, and lengthening the average amount of time between installation and maintenance or replacement services.”

The Stonehenge Series is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 50°C at full power and -40°C to 60°C at reduced output power. Featuring an ingress protection rating of 20, the drivers are rated for dry environments only. Additionally, Stonehenge Series drivers come with an extended eight-year warranty, and their small, lightweight design enables easy integration into a variety of indoor and architectural design projects.

Standard features of the Stonehenge Series LED lighting power supplies include over-voltage, over-current, short-circuit, and open-circuit protections, including brownout and brownout recovery. The drivers also meet UL8750 and UL1310 requirements, bear safety approval markings for both UL and CE, and meet the specifications outlined by Energy Star for SSL luminaires, including a power factor correction of greater than 0.9.

The other constant-current LED power supplies in the PDA012X Series possess the same standard features as the Stonehenge Series models, but with lifespans of 50,000 hours. Thesemodels are available at a lower cost and come with a standard three-year warranty.

All LED drivers in the PDA012X series, which includes the two Stonehenge Series models, measure 132mm x 30mm x 22mm and weigh 150 grams. Pricing for the Stonehenge series models, designated PDA012X-350C-H-R, start at $68.61 in single unit quantities.
