Photonic Solutions Strengthen Relationship with Light Conversion

From 1st September 2011, Photonic Solutions announce they will be handling the Light Conversion Ltd (Lithuania) PHAROS and ORPHEUS ultrafast laser systems in the UK and Ireland. These femtosecond lasers are designed for industrial and scientific applications and are recognised as technology leaders .

PHAROS is a rugged, self contained, single-unit Yb:KGW ultrafast laser designed to be turn-key out of its box with powers up to 15W average and rep rates up to 1MHz. PHAROS is quite unique in that it is completely pulse-width tuneable from 200fs to 10ps making it an ideal source for a wide range of industrial applications especially in micromachining research/parameter investigation. Harmonic generators are available to create second, third and fourth harmonics of the fundamental 1030nm wavelength. Other lasers in the range will also be added, such as the new air cooled CARBIDE laser.

With the add-on option of the ORPHEUS wavelength tuneable OPA, the PHAROS system becomes an attractive and compact, 200nm to 20000nm tunable spectroscopic tool for multiphoton confocal microscopy, non linear optics and microstructuring applications.

This strengthens an already existing long term relationship between Photonic Solutions and Light Conversion based on sales of LC’s original ultrafast product - the TOPAS, tunable fs/ps OPA. More than 900 TOPAS have been installed worldwide over the past decade.
