Anybus Configuration Manager for Anybus X-gateway EtherNet/IP Facilitates Set-up
HMS now releases the Anybus Configuration Manager for the Anybus X-gateway EtherNet/IP where the user easily configures the EtherNet/IP network in a regular web browser.
The new configuration tool accompanies EtherNet/IP scanner/master gateways delivered from HMS as of September 2011 without extra cost.
"The Anybus Configuration Manager is designed to be quick and easy to use," comments Niklas Selander, Product Manager Gateways at HMS. "It supports both Point-to-Point and Multicast communication and has the basic functionality you need to configure the EtherNet/IP network gathered in a single window. We estimate that this functionality will suffice for 80-90% of our users. The new configuration tool will make configuration faster and more cost-effective than using a more comprehensive option."
The Anybus X-gateway series for EtherNet/IP enables communication between EtherNet/IP and 14 industrial networks, such as Profibus, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, CC-Link, CANopen, Profinet, Ethernet Modbus/TCP and Modbus RTU. Each gateway version consists of an EtherNet/IP scanner/master interface and a slave module to connect to the network of choice.
