High-Speed Cameras Now Come with Two-Year Warranty

Photron, a manufacturer of high-speed imaging systems and image analysis software, has introduced a two-year warranty, available at no additional charge on all newly purchased high-speed cameras. The two-year warranty will cover all parts and labour for the company's cameras. Photron designs and manufactures cameras that are often subjected to extreme and hostile environments, from desert government test ranges to automotive crash testing venues.

The company's high-speed video imagers are also used in intensified systems for biofluorescence applications. Photron's multi-headed high-speed cameras are integrated into microscopy and production line fault-finding systems, and its fastest megapixel high-speed cameras are used in sports, broadcasting and entertainment applications.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved. However, if sizing at this level prevents the motor from starting, it may then be necessary to increase the fuse ampere rating and it then becomes important to know the NEC sizing limitations.
