New Awards for the ELESA Italian Design

1977-2011: thanks to its unique design Elesa has received 31 awards from the most prestigious international juries for the industrial design. LAC-R adjustable cam lever and ETK three arm operating handwheel have been recently awarded with the IF 2011 from International Forum Design of Hanover. LAC-R adjustable cam lever can perform a quick and fine clamping. The adjustment by means of the knurled nut allows to apply the best clamping force on the lever. In the meantime, it allows to
position the lever in any desired direction.

For this reason, adjustable cam levers are suitable when the turning angle is limited owing to lack of space. The slightly arched shape of the lever and the ergonomic terminal enlargement give a comfortable and safe grip to the operator and
make the design of the lever more elegant. ETK three-arm, handwheel has been especially designed for application on office furniture such as high-density storage. The three equidistant arms (120°) offer a perfect grip and the greatest operation easiness. The straight lines and the special compact and ergonomic shape of its design together with the absence of dangerous cavities guarantee an
excellent level of safety during steering operations.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
