Flir to Present Thermal Imagers at Offshore Europe
Flir Systems will present its thermal-imaging cameras, suitable for applications such as electrical and mechanical inspection, energy management and gas imaging, at Offshore Europe on 6-8 September. According to the company, which will be found on Stand 4D100, thermal imaging has become an essential predictive maintenance and condition monitoring tool in the process industries. At this year's Offshore Europe event, the company will show new models in all application areas, from entry level to the most sophisticated.
Visitors will be able to try out the new Flir T-Series cameras, which are said to deliver inspection efficiency, speedy operation, good image quality and high measurement accuracy. As such, they are designed for anyone involved in predictive maintenance. A single scan with the high-resolution Flir T600 Series cameras can instantly reveal thermal anomalies that indicate problems. In addition, this inspection can be conducted at a distance, keeping the engineer safely away from potential harm. As well as offering its P600 Series, a range of thermal-imaging cameras targeted at expert thermographers, Flir Systems also claims to offer the best value for money at entry level.
Manufacturing volumes have allowed the company to cut the cost of the Flir i5, for example, to GBP1,330. This troubleshooting model is suitable for those wishing to get a feel for infrared technology. The Flir GF-Series cameras can scan large areas rapidly and pinpoint leaks in real time. They are suitable for monitoring plant that is difficult to reach with contact measurement tools, and thousands of components can be scanned per shift without the need to interrupt the process. Flir gas imaging is said to be very safe, allowing potentially dangerous leaks to be monitored from several metres away. At the show, the company will distribute two informative guides on thermal-imaging technology, the first covering gas detection and the second a 48-page book aimed at would-be thermographers keen to deepen their knowledge of the subject.
