Thermal Imaging Cameras can be Used at Close Range

Flir Systems' thermal imaging allows commitment to new plant needs to be in parallel with investment, meaning Europe could derive 20 per cent of its energy needs from renewable sources by 2020. The non-contact, non-destructive method can be applied at close range, or over considerable distance, due to the choice of thermal-imaging cameras available. At All Energy, visitors will be able to see three new series additions to the Flir predictive-maintenance range that extends from the troubleshooting, compact cameras through to expert models that provide every feature for high-end thermal analysis and reporting.

The Flir i3 is suitable for the first-time user who wants to inspect or monitor the health of electrical and mechanical systems, or even a building. This newcomer will be demonstrated at the show, along with the new Flir E-Series models. These are more sophisticated than the Flir i-Series, providing enhanced image quality and analysis. These IP54 housed cameras introduce advanced features and analysis tools that optimise inspection. These include picture-in-picture thermal and visual overlay, thermal fusion that merges both image types, digital zoom and text/voice annotation. Thermal images and other information can be transmitted from the Flir E-Series to an Iphone or Ipad and also, via Meterlink, measurement data from a clamp meter to the camera.

These features are also included on the latest generation Flir T-Series models for the commercial application of high-calibre thermal imaging. Complementing its portable range are the Flir fixed mounted cameras, designed to keep the thermal efficiency of installation in constant check. The latest models introduce several time-saving features including GigE Vision and Genicam compatibility, a feature that cuts down integration time significantly.
