Parcel-Label Image Capture Automates Sorting

At Cemat 2011, Vitronic will present its camera-based parcel recognition systems for warehousing and logistics, including Vipac, a system that operates above conveyors or sorters in busy warehouses. Vitronic will be at booth G51, hall 27, of the Cemat exhibition in Hanover Germany, from 2-6 May. This year's theme is 'Sustainability in Intralogistics', which aims to help companies maintain a balance between the claims of the environment, economic success and social responsibility.

Vitronic's camera-based auto ID system captures images of parcel labels using high-resolution line-scan cameras as they flow through on powered parcel handling systems, before using sophisticated software to identify codes and text on the labels. Parcel handlers use this data to automate sorting, commissioning and shipping processes to boost efficiency and reduce costs. At Cemat 2011, Vitronic will demonstrate a range of camera-based auto ID solutions for manual, semiautomatic and fully automatic data acquisition. Experienced engineers will be at hand to handle enquiries and generate sales leads.
