Multipix Holds Machine Vision Technology Day
Companies including Basler, MVTec, Panasonic, SICK and Flir presented first-hand machine vision technology information at Multipix Imaging's annual technology day on 24 March. The 'Machine Vision - Another Dimension' event, held at the Heritage Motor Museum in Gaydon, included an exhibition area, where live demonstrations featured the latest vision products. One product on display was the Panasonic Vision P400 software. According to the Multipix, its ease of use was demonstrated as the software detected certain features on Playmobile figures as they rotated on a turntable.
The software includes first-rate algorithms for almost all typical inspections, such as measuring, contour checking, part identification, feature extraction and 2D code reading. Users can access Vision P400 with customised interfaces with the help of ActiveX, or if the inspection task cannot be handled by the numerous out-of-the-box algorithms, the user-defined checker (UDC) allows the user to implement his or her own inspection routines based on the MVTec Halcon library, for example. Following on from the technology day, Multipix is currently offering a starter kit that includes the Vision P400 software, a 2-megapixel GigE camera, lens and cables.
