Commercial Air Coolers for Use in Food Preparation
Alfa Laval has developed a portfolio of Eurovent-certified, commercial air coolers for duties in food-preparation areas, chilled distribution depots, supermarkets, petrol stations and restaurants. Called Optigo, the first units released under this name are the CS20 and CS30 air coolers. With an evaporation range of from 100 to -300C, both are suited for general applications in small- to medium-size cooling and freezing rooms.
They incorporate a number of new features, including a coil pattern; energy-efficient, dual-speed EC fan motors (200 or 300mm diameter) as standard and a new supply set up that saves installation time by making mounting quicker and safer. Both types are characterised by an ultra-slim silhouette, making them simple to install even in confined spaces. For instance, the CS20 model is only 15cm deep, which means it can also be wall-mounted to make the most efficient use of the available space. Yet it is available in six different capacities providing airflow of 513 to 1,671m3 per hour.
The CS30 model offers up to 20 variations, the largest of which provides 4,240m3/hr airflow. All of these units operate to a design pressure of 31 Bar. In addition, special versions capable of handling 80Barg are available to order. They can be used with H(C)FC, brine or CO2 as the refrigerant. The smart but durable casing is aluminium coated with a thick epoxy coating to RAL 9003 for a long working life.
