ABB Products Designed to Speed up Palletising
ABB Robotics has launched two palletising robots, three palletising grippers and a programming software that are all designed to make palletising simpler, faster and more efficient. The compact, four-axis, 110kg-capacity IRB 460 is capable of up to 2,190 cycles an hour, making it suitable for high-speed end-of-line palletising and bag palletising. The IRB 460 has a reach of 2.4m, occupies 20 per cent less floor space and runs 15 per cent faster than its nearest rivals, according to ABB.
For high-output full-layer palletising, ABB is introducing the IRB 760 robot. With a payload capacity of 450kg and a reach of 3.2m, this robot features high wrist inertia, which enables it to quickly rotate large, heavy products. Its speed makes the IRB 760 especially suited for palletising beverages, building materials and chemicals. Three Flexgrippers round out the new hardware product offerings, including a clamp, which comes in two sizes, for handling cases; a heavy-duty claw for high-speed bag palletising and a vacuum gripper that can handle up to five products at once.
Finally, the Robotstudio Palletizing Powerpac software runs on a PC and allows users to configure, simulate and program ABB robots and grippers for palletising solutions with little or no robot programming experience.
