Tetra Pak Supplies Hygienic Equipment To McBride

Tetra Pak, a provider of hygienic process equipment and turnkey systems, has supplied additional hygienic mixing and cleaning equipment to McBride, a personal-care product specialist. Installed at the McBride processing facility in Bradford, the new equipment enables the mixing of oils and transfers them to a filler. The equipment also includes a compact, mobile clean-in-place (CIP) unit for cleaning various pieces of customer equipment. The CIP unit comprises a 200-litre holding vessel with delivery and scavenge pumps. Heating of the media is by inline electrical immersion heaters and the controls provide simple pushbutton operation with automatic temperature control to a preset level.

Tetra Pak prefabricated all of the equipment at its manufacturing facility in Sherborne, Dorset, before transferring to the site. This ensured minimal disruption, which was particularly important as McBride was carrying out other works at the same time to facilitate the installed plant. The installation has enabled McBride to upgrade its processing facility and reduce the level of operator input required.
