200W Power Supply Module For Railway Applications

Power supply specialist TDK-Lambda EMEA has added a 200W module to its CN-A110 series of DC-DC power modules, which have a 60-160VDC input to accommodate higher-power railway applications. Available with nominal output voltages from 5V to 24V (adjustable +/- 10 per cent), the CN200A110 module has a wide input range, and is fully regulated and isolated to deliver good performance in the industry-standard half-brick footprint.

The CN200A110 DC-DC modules are suitable for rolling-stock and fixed installations, enabling customers to design cost-effective EN50155-compliant systems without the risks associated with custom product designs and in a shorter timescale. TDK-Lambda also offers a design and manufacture service for customers preferring to buy in complete systems that meet their exact electrical and mechanical requirements. Designed for harsh environments, the 200W module in the CN-A110 series meets the stringent shock and vibration requirements of IEC61737 Category 1 Class B, as well as the Japanese equivalent standard JIS E 4031.

The baseplate-cooled CN200A110 module, with industry standard half-brick pin-out, provides high, true usable power from -40C to +100C, without de-rating. It offers up to 88 per cent power conversion efficiency, 73/in3 power density and delivers up to 4.2A useable output current in a package measuring 57.9 x 61.0 x 12.7mm. As standard, all models in the CN-A110 series are equipped with remote sense, remote on/off and input-to-output isolation of 3,000VAC, as well as over-voltage and over-current protection circuitry. They are delivered with TDK-Lambda's five-year warranty, are safety-approved to UL/CSA/EN60950-1 and carry the CE mark, according to the LV Directive.
