Porvair Offers Alternative To Cast-Bodied Filters

Porvair Filtration Group (Gas Division) has announced that its square box filter range is finding many uses in the process industry. Originally designed to operate up to a pressure of two bar and to provide a high-quality fabricated alternative to cast filter units, recent developments now allow Porvair square box filters to operate efficiently at pressures up to seven bar. Andy Bevis, Porvair Special Projects Manager, said: 'Customers have chosen our fabricated square box filters because they offer an economic alternative to cast-bodied filters.

'Using square box filters is most beneficial when your process requires dissimilar inlet and outlet connection sizes. 'Our units can be provided with any combination of inlet and outlet diameters,' he added. Porvair Filtration Group's square box filters are available in a complete range from 2in NB connections up to 8in NB connections and in both 90deg and 180deg orientations. The units are also available with pleated and plain wrap filter mesh as well as pleated synthetic media versions.

Filtration ratings for the square box filters range from 200 micron down to two micron, all at 99.9 per cent efficiency. All square box filter product designs have been determined through finite element analysis (FEA) as well as 3D modelling. Porvair Filtration Group (Gas Division) provides a total filtration service to natural gas, offshore oil and gas industries - from single elements to complete skid-mounted systems.
