Trac Adds Certification Testing To Zigbee Profiles

Trac has added formal certification testing to the Zigbee Health Care and Telecoms Services profiles, providing comprehensive certification routes for Zigbee-based consumer devices. The Zigbee Telecoms Service Profile sets out a global standard for wireless sensor networks, which will supply consumer devices with information, location-based services, entertainment content, payment and billing services, and data-exchange services.

It will provide consumer devices with a new range of services, based around mobile phones. Every such offering will require the verification of its compliance to the standards and definitions set out by the Zigbee Alliance - and also where they interact with other telecoms services, for conformity to the standards that apply to those systems.

Zigbee Health Care is one of the technologies chosen by the Continua Alliance to support its range of health-care products. It provides a global standard for low-power, interoperable devices for monitoring and management roles in non-acute health-care situations for use in the home, and in medical centres and nursing homes by patients and health-care workers.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays.
