SICK Plans To Demonstrate Safety Products

SICK will show safety switches, light curtains, safety scanners and cameras, relays and controllers at Health and Safety 2010, which is due to be held at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton on 13-14 October. The company will also demonstrate the capabilities of the new software upgrade for its Flexi Soft safety controller. The Flexi Soft modular safety controller incorporates a range of function modules to meet the needs of a range of machinery safety applications.

The Designer software, in its enhanced v1.3 suite, ensures that it continually meets the demands of modern production safety. Designer v1.3 enables the more extensive and flexible control of safety applications for small and medium-sized machines. Available as a free download, Designer v1.3 enables the connection of four Flexi Soft controllers measuring up to 100m, in series, with an online view of the setup. As well as controlling an extended range of sensor function inputs and outputs, Flexi Soft Designer makes updating and reconfiguring new safety tasks simple and quick, according to the company.

Flexi Soft Designer allows the user to document the software with full functional descriptions, which are stored locally on the Flexi controller. Reports from the software also allow the user to document the project according to the requirements of BS EN 13849-1.
