Single-Board Computer Suitable for Control Boxes

Aaeon has launched the EPIC-QM57, an EPIC single-board computer sized at 115 x 165mm to fall between the 3.5in SubCompact board and a Mini-ITX motherboard, suiting it to embedded-system developers. The EPIC-QM57's features make it suitable for industrial control boxes; industrial automation; transportation; test and measurement; security and defence; and government. It supports Intel Core i7/i5 processor with up to two 204-pin SODIMM sockets to support 8GB of DDR3 800/1066 system memory.

For high-speed network communications, the device features the Intel 82577LM and Intel 82574L chipsets that support two Gigabit Ethernet ports. Moreover, this model deploys PCI-104 and PCIe/104 connectors as well as a Mini Card slot to offer flexible options for expansion. It comes equipped with rich I/O interfaces, including six USB2.0 ports, four COM ports, mouse, keyboard and eight-bit programmable digital I/O.

In addition, two SATA connectors and one Type 2 CompactFlash socket are installed onto the EPIC-QM57 to offer further options for operating system and storage space. For video support, the EPIC-QM57 can show simultaneous displays through the CRT and the 24-bit dual-channel LVDS LCD connectors at up to 1920 x 1200 resolution. DVI can also be supported as an option instead of the LVDS and this single-board computer can share video memory with system memory up to 512MB. Two-channel high-definition audio is also incorporated onto the board.
