Alpeco Delivers Pumps and Metering for Oil Trucks

Alpeco has revealed that it has supplied and fitted a pump and metering system to Wessex Petroleum for use on highly specialised oil delivery trucks. Exxon Mobil uses three main distributors in the UK to deliver products to a national network of trade and retail outlets; Wessex Petroleum is one of them. Wessex Petroleum delivers the Exxon Mobil lubricant products using two special road tankers, which are fitted with dual manifolds, two pumps, two LC meters with TE550 dual electronics registers and a central CPU, all supplied to the tanker manufacturer Magyar by Alpeco.

The multi-compartment vehicles are designed to carry a variety of lube oil products, which are discharged to the customer through each of two hydraulically driven pump and metering systems. Cross-contamination between products is avoided through the use of a specially designed dual-manifold system and a pneumatic hose blow-down system, which can be activated remotely by the driver from the end of the delivery hose. The Wessex Petroleum trucks are fitted with Alpeco's dual T550 electronic registers, which have the ability to control up to four metering systems simultaneously.
