TR Produces Custom Rivet Bushes For Potters

Fine-limit sheet metal working firm Potters turned to TR Fastenings after its supplier of custom rivet bushes ceased trading. The quantity involved was around 2,000 and Potters had relied on its previous supplier for delivery on short lead times whenever its own customer called off a supply of enclosures. Turning to TR Fastenings, Potters was able to fulfil its order, having received newly designed custom parts from TR several days before the original supplier's delivery deadline.

Working from Potters' specification, TR Fastenings engineers quickly produced drawings for the stand-off rivet bushes, a custom size somewhat taller than usual to act as spacers. TR's reputation and Potters experience gave the sheet metal firm the confidence to proceed to production of the zinc-coated mild steel bushes without prototyping. The finished products were delivered three days ahead of deadline. Production manager at Potters, Lea Bullen, said he can still order on demand with minimal lead times, which is ideal because the orders for the finished enclosures are intermittent and unpredictable.

On an administrative level, he now has one less supplier to manage, as TR is already a source of high-volume commodity fasteners. These are produced at TR's Asian cold-forming plants or sourced from third parties with TR quality assurance.
