PoE Switch Enables Wireless-Device Communication

Aaxeon has released the LNP-1002G Lanolinx Industrial Unmanaged Gigabit Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) Switch, which enables communication with wireless devices such as access points and IP phones. The LNP-1002G is an unmanaged 10-port Gigabit Industrial Ethernet switch with 8 10/100TX ports and 2 combo ports. The combo ports can either be 10/100/1000TX or Gigabit fibre using an Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) module.

This configuration provides the user with the flexibility to use fibre or copper ports for the uplink. Each of the eight 10/100TX ports supports the new 802.3af PoE standard and can provide up to 15W at 48V DC. An Extended Operating Temperature model (LNP-1002G-T) with a temperature range from -40 to 80C is also available for extreme temperature applications.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
