Aberlink Launches Modular CMM Fixture Kits

Aberlink, which supplies metrology solutions for aerospace, automotive, electronics and medical applications, has launched a range of modular fixture kits for co-ordinate measuring machines (CMMs). Manufactured from anodised aluminium and high-quality stainless steel, for a long corrosion-free and wear-resistant product life, the kits' durable elements enable the quick construction of a variety of holding fixtures, according to the company.

The patent-pending design of Aberlink's system now enables awkward components to be held securely and helps to ensure accuracy and repeatability throughout a CMM measuring routine. Utilising a CMM's granite table and M6 fixing holes, or the system's own sturdy support plate as a base, T-slot and sliding T-nut technology enable the fixtures' elements to be adjusted in multiple directions.

Laser-engraved reference scales assist with high-precision fixture assembly and the construction of repeat setups. With a range of multi-use elements and accessories, even in the company's standard kit, priced at less than GBP1,000, the universal nature of Aberlink's fixture kits means that they can be used across the company's full range of CMMs and vision measuring devices or on the CMMs and optical comparators of other manufacturers.
