Kabelschlepp Announces Heavy-Duty Cable Carrier

The Uniflex Advanced series of lightweight plastic cable carrier from Kabelschlepp has been expanded to include a version that is very robust. The 1320 series was developed as a heavy-duty version with a one-piece chain link to enable safe guidance of stiff hydraulic hoses in the extendable outriggers of a concrete truck. The limited space required a compact cable carrier system.

This was achieved by very small bend radii and by a favourable ratio of inside to outside width; despite the compact outer dimensions, the interior has enough space for the hydraulic hoses. The harsh operating conditions - the dirt, the shocks and jolts and the mechanical loads - cannot harm the torsionally rigid cable carrier. A double-stroke system for long unsupported lengths and lateral wear surfaces provides durability, while an internal noise-damping system enables quiet operation.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
