Laird Technologies Releases Industry-First Indoor 2-Port LTE MIMO Antenna

Laird Technologies, Inc., a global leader in the design and supply of customized performance-critical components and systems for advanced electronics and wireless products, today announced the release of the first-to-market CMD69273 LTE MIMO 2-port omnidirectional celling mount antenna solution for the In-Building Wireless (IBW) industry.

As the latest innovation in successful wireless deployment, the CMD69273 offers a complete cellular solution for 3G and 4G data communications. Optimized for indoor requirements, the antenna increases the throughput/capacity of cellular, UMTS and LTE/WiMAX wireless voice and data standards operating in the 698 to 960 MHz and 1710 to 2700 MHz frequency bands.

“The CMD69273 antenna addresses next generation trends for cellular and data transport needs while not sacrificing current application performance,” said Ted Hebron, Laird Technologies Antenna Product Manager. “It possesses such improved throughput that system integrators will forgo selecting a single-port broadband antenna, preferring the CMD69273’s 2-port configuration instead.”

Featuring two oriented radiating elements, the antenna provides a specifically shaped pattern that optimizes performance and maximizes coverage using a ceiling mount location. The elements also include linear horizontal/vertical polarization components that address multipath polarization propagation issues found in indoor environments. Additional features of the CMD69273 include a low profile, aesthetically neutral housing made with UL 94 VO materials and a flush mount allowing easy attachment to a ceiling tile.

An industry leader in the design and manufacture of antennas for in-building wireless data, Laird Technologies possesses end-to-end system knowledge and employs advanced, proprietary design tools to bring novel antenna designs to market with unmatched performance that maximize total system performance and user satisfaction.
