YDS Jacks Target Gigabit Ethernet Applications

MSC Vertriebs has announced the availability of the 10/100/1000 Base-T jacks of the 56F series from YDS for applications in industrial computers, network equipment and industrial controls. Implemented in 12-pin design, there are several different configurations of the internal magnetic modules for conventional and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) applications. The pin configuration in through-the-hole design conforms to the industry standard.

All 56F series models meet the IEEE 802.3 standards including >=350uH OCL at 8mA and 1,500Vrms isolation. Furthermore, they feature low insertion loss, low cross-talk and high return loss. The 56F series connectors offered in Tab-UP versions are optionally available with or without yellow and green LEDs. The standard operating temperature range is specified from 0C to 70C. For industrial applications, versions operating from -40C to +85C can be manufactured upon request.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
