Martek Introduces 12V DC Output Power Supplies

Martek Power announces the release of the 12V DC output version of the AHF series of 650W AC front-end power supplies designed for datacom and network applications. The AHF series is a standard product line of high-density 12V DC or 48V DC output AC front ends with active power factor correction and 3.3V DC auxiliary standby power. Measuring 3.07in x 1.57in x 12.38in, the units deliver up to 53.3A across the full AC input range of 90-264V AC.

With a compact 1U x 2U format, up to five power supply modules can be mounted in a standard 19in rack in a 1U high profile. Advanced design approach has maximised the power densities of the AHF models to more than 20W/in3, with efficiencies of more than 92 per cent.

The AHF models come standard with N+1 redundancy, which is ensured by hot plug and active current sharing scheme, as well as I2C management bus logic for system integration and communication features. Protection features include input over voltage, output over voltage, over temperature and over current.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays.
