Heavy-duty metalworking oil is aerospace compliant

Master Chemical has launched Trim OG223, a heavy-duty metalworking oil that is aerospace compliant and suitable for grinding hardened steel alloys, stainless steels and inconels as well as titanium. The company said that an advantage of the oil is that it grinds titanium as well as, or even better than, heavily chlorinated grinding oils. This is particularly relevant to manufacturers of aerospace fixings, where the use of chlorinated oil with active sulphur additives is not an option as it can compromise the life of the part.

Formulated as a medium-to-heavy duty grinding oil, Trim OG223 can also be used to machine all materials, including yellow metals, in high-pressure applications. This low-odour product contains a good extreme-pressure additive package for efficient metal removal. Its hydrocracked base oil is responsible for a very high flash-point and low-misting characteristics. Trim OG223 is low foaming, exhibits good oxidation stability and is fully compatible with copper-containing alloys. Designed to be used neat, Trim OG223 is available in 204-litre drums, 1,000-litre IBCs or in bulk quantities.
