Bollhoff Picks Vertex Scale for Materials Weighing
Mettler Toledo has revealed that Bollhoff, a high-volume supplier of fasteners and assembly systems, has chosen Vertex floor scales to provide precise materials weighing. The ISO-compliant Vertex floor scale is able to handle 15 tons of transfer weight. In addition, the scale's durable, low profile is said to maximise employee safety while cutting processing time and costs. Bollhoff is aiming to become a zero-defect organisation through continuous improvement in accordance with ISO/TS 116949:2002 certification.
The company selected the 2158 Vertex heavy duty scale from Mettler Toledo for use with all incoming goods, and said the scale saves time and space when checking in pallets. Mettler Toledo said the Vertex eliminates most of the adjustable parts that commonly wear out or lose tolerance over time; this achieves stability and reliability. Heavy channel-reinforced construction means the scale is able to handle demanding operations and forklift traffic. In addition, the 2158 Vertex can withstand heavy equipment collisions and manage transfer weights of up to 15 tons.
This makes it suitable for the busy conditions at Bollhoff. Hayrettin Sariz, manager at Bollhoff Logistics Centre, said: 'Every day, large quantities of materials are delivered at our goods receipt area. 'The 2158 Vertex is called upon to check deliveries for completeness. 'Thanks to the scale's design, our forklifts can drive over it without any problems. 'Our drivers do not have to waste time manoeuvring around the scale, and we can put our floor space to better use,' Sariz added. The Vertex scale's integrated design has minimised the risk of employee injury; Bollhoff has been able to eliminate excess equipment, such as walkthrough barriers.
The Vertex scales come standard in painted mild steel and stainless steel models in 3 x 3ft to 5 x 7ft sizes and 1,000lb to 20,000lb capacities. Fastfab capabilities allow customers to specify custom Vertex floor scale components to meet a wide range of floor scale applications. Mettler Toledo also offers installation, maintenance and calibration services. The 2158 Vertex has been awarded calibration certification in accordance with ISO/TS 16949.
