OLED Displays Suit Use in Battery-Powered Devices

Transfer Multisort Elektronik has introduced the DEP series, a range of monochromatic OLED displays that eliminate the need for a backlight and thus use less power than alternative displays. The company also offers displays with RGB diodes, with which full-colour images can be displayed. Designers can also choose between passive and active matrixes.

The smallest display measures 0.8in diagonally and the largest 4.3in. They are suitable for use in battery-operated devices. All displays of this series are equipped with a tape, enabling them to be connected to other components by ZIF compact connectors.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
