Kistler Launches Control-Room Electronics System

Kistler, a supplier of instrumentation for the dynamic measurement of pressure, force, torque and acceleration, has introduced the Type 9887A2 Control Room Electronics System 2000 to the US market. The Type 9887A2 is expressly designed for the processing of non-spinning signal outputs from Kistler Roadyn Type S625, S635, S650 and S6HT six-component wheel force systems within six-degree of freedom, test rig, spindle-coupled road simulator and other high-accuracy vehicle-durability testing applications.

The Kistler Type 9887A2 Control Room Electronics System 2000 is designed to meet the needs of analogue and digital vehicle test rigs and stands. The system offers clear, intuitive user menus, touch-screen operation, a sampling rate of 5kHz and 16-bit resolution for full vehicle testing and diagnostics. Individually measured analogue signals of the Kistler Type 9887A2 are instantly digitised, coded and passed onto control-system electronics via a connecting cable, transmitted with minimal signal delay of less than 1msec.

The digital output of the Kistler Type 9887A2 also offers a fully scalable range, from small cars to light trucks, which further allows for the automatic identification of wheel-measuring components, along with the separate calibration of system-load cells and the fine tuning of individual measurements. The unit's 19in case accommodates plug-in cards for one- or two-wheel transducers. The system is also offered with digital interface variations for specific test stand electronics, allowing for improved uptime with reduced wiring connections, as well as digital connection capabilities to MTS Flextest.

Specific vehicle test-stand capability enhancements supported by the Kistler Type 9887A2 include a web interface for live-view control-room access, signal offset and calibration data import and export, as well as archiving capabilities per ISO9001. Recommended accessories include an IDSP Card with Ethernet port and embedded web server, as well as use of Type 5277A remote system electronics.
