Bagging System Offers Weighing and Counting
Automated Packaging Systems offers the AB 180 bagging system, which is claimed to be reliable, flexible, easy to use and able to pack items at up to six times faster than hand-bagging. According to Automated Packaging Systems, AB 180 is in use across the globe bagging items as diverse as plumbing parts, medical devices, food and automotive parts. Coupled with an Accuscale weighing system, it weigh-counts small components quickly and accurately.
Accuscale is able to detect and count product as light as a tenth of a gram. To set the machine up, the user places a sample of product on the scale and the system virtually programmes itself, making training easier and reducing demands on operators. The display clearly shows a piece count, enabling the operator to accurately adjust volumes before using the foot-pedal to flip product into a pre-opened bag ready for automatic sealing. Where counting and batching of bulk items is called for, AB 180 seamlessly integrates with an Autobag Accu-count to bag at speeds up to 2,500 packs an hour. The vibrating bowl and count system is engineered for speed and accuracy without compromising on flexibility.
It is available with three different bowl configurations and capable of handling products from 3 to 62mm in length. A bulk supply of product is driven into a single-flow to be automatically counted then batched and funnelled into pre-opened bags that are sealed and despatched at speed. The AB 180, on which both systems are based, uses quick-change system-matched Autobag bags-on-a-roll, which can be custom branded and overprinted, and that come with features including zip locks and easy openers.
