Honeywell Launches Solstice Liquid Blowing Agent in Japan

Honeywell has launched its new Solstice™ Liquid Blowing Agent in Japan, where it has the potential to be used in spray foam insulation, insulated metal panels and refrigerator insulation.

The product offers exceptional benefits over hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) blowing agents including a global-warning potential of less than 5, which is significant because most commonly used HFC blowing agents have a global warming potential of 700 to 1000 or more. Solstice™ Liquid Blowing Agent also provides superior insulating capabilities, no impact to the ozone layer, non-flammability and low toxicity.

"Japan presents an exciting opportunity for Solstice Liquid Blowing Agent, as it is phasing out high-global-warming products," said Sanjeev Rastogi, business director of Structural Enclosures, Fluorine Products. "Our partnership with a local producer is helping to supply the product to meet the increased demand for field trials and customer evaluations."

Honeywell Fluorine Products is in the process of commercializing Solstice Liquid Blowing Agent globally.
