EPCOS Temperature Sensors Achieve Zero Defects
TDK Corporation announces that EPCOS for the first time has received the “Q in Gold” quality award from the leading European household appliance maker, BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte (BSH). With the Q in Gold award, BSH recognizes the outstanding quality of the EPCOS temperature sensors it incorporates into its induction cooktops at its plant in Montañana, Spain.
The main criterion for the award is meeting the high quality targets that BSH sets for its around 800 suppliers throughout Europe. The EPCOS NTC temperature sensors, which are manufactured at the Batam plant in Indonesia, achieved a defect rate of zero parts per million (ppm), far better than the present requirement of less than 50 ppm.
With sales of over EUR 9.6 billion and more than 45,000 employees worldwide, BSH ranks number one in the home appliance sector in Europe and number three globally.
