White Light Scanners Deliver Dimensional Metrology
3D measurement specialist Phase Vision launched its Quartz white light scanners for the automotive and aerospace industries at Mach 2010. The company reported high levels of interest around the scanner family, which is said to deliver fast, accurate dimensional metrology for larger free-form objects.
Requiring only power and an Ethernet connection, they are portable, simple to set up, require only minimal operator training and can be used almost anywhere. Ralph Weir, chief executive officer at Phase Vision, said: 'We had several enquiries from manufacturers seeking to reverse engineer components from older models, and we even had instances of show visitors bringing objects on to the stand to see how the scanner would cope with measuring them.
